Fees and Charges
Pamela is an accredited mental health social worker, registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers. AASW Accredited Mental Health Social workers are registered providers with Medicare. Referrals to access the Better Access to Mental Health initiative can be made by your local GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist.
Appointment Fees
Fees are payable on the day of each appointment. Fees will be paid in full, and if you are claiming the Medicare rebate, this will be processed on the day of the appointment. Please note, we are not a bulk billing practice.

Do I Need a Mental Health Treatment Plan?
You don’t need a Mental Health Treatment Plan to attend Think Actively - you're welcome to attend privately. However, having a Treatment Plan from your GP allows you to claim a Medicare rebate. For example, an on-site session is $180.00, and the Medicare rebate is $87.25, bringing your out-of-pocket cost to $92.75. Without a Treatment Plan, the full fee of $180.00 applies.
Report Writing
In some cases, clients may require a formal written report to support a referral to a paediatrician, psychiatrist, or other medical specialist. These reports are more detailed than routine Medicare treatment reviews and involve additional assessment and preparation time.
We offer a structured process for these reports, which includes:

Assessment Appointment
You'll attend a 50-minute assessment session. During this session, screening tools (such as the DASS-21 and other relevant measures) will be used to gather information to support the report. This appointment is privately billed and not eligible for a Medicare rebate. -
Report Preparation
Following the assessment, your therapist will complete the written report. Please allow up to 2 weeks for the report to be finalised. Reports are sent directly to the nominated specialist via secure email or fax. -
Fixed Fee
The total cost for the assessment session and report preparation is $550.00 (inc. GST). This includes the initial assessment and up to two hours of report writing time. We invoice for this service in advance.
Additional Services
The following services can be provided outside of normal appointment times and are charged at $198.00 per hour (inc. GST):
- Speaking with other health professionals and teachers (with your consent).
- Attending case conferences and school meetings.
- Telephone calls with your practitioner to discuss you or your child's case.
NDIS
If you or your child is the recipient of a self-managed or plan-managed NDIS package, services will be charged as per the current NDIS price guide.
Professional Supervision
Supervision is charged at $176.00 per hour (inc. GST).
Cancellation Policy
At least 24 hours notice will need to be provided or a late cancellation fee ($95.00) will be charged. If multiple appointments are missed or cancelled late, future appointments will need to be paid in full at the time of booking.
